What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address and (optionally) a role (homeowner or contractor). We save the projects you create — including project type, dimensions, notes, and ZIP code — so you can revisit them. Contractors additionally provide company details, services, and service ZIP areas.

Location data

If you choose "Detect my location" we use your browser's Geolocation API to look up an approximate city name through a third-party reverse-geocoding service. We only store the resulting city and (if available) ZIP in your browser's local storage and, when you save a project, on that project record. We do not track your precise coordinates.

Payments

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details. Stripe returns a customer/subscription reference we associate with your account to unlock paid features.

Third-party retailer links

The materials shopping list includes affiliate links to Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon. We may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Those retailers set their own privacy policies once you follow the link.

Contact & deletion

You can delete individual projects from your dashboard. To delete your entire account or request a data export, contact us via the address listed on the site.

Planning estimate — not a quote

Numbers are rough planning ranges based on public 2026 data for the greater Houston area and nearby communities. Actual costs vary by neighborhood, season, site conditions, and contractor. Always get multiple written local quotes, verify TDLR / TCEQ licensing and insurance, and confirm any permit rules with your city, county, MUD, or HOA before starting work. This tool is not a substitute for a signed contract, licensed contractor, engineer, or legal / professional advice. Use at your own risk.
